Secret Study
Once a month in June, July, and August, City of Refuge will be hosting a night of study. It will take place on a Friday June 17 at 7pm and continue until we are ready to stop. No agendas, no sermons, just study. We will choose what we study when we get together and we’ll share our knowledge with each other.
Please let Peter know by Thursday morning if you will be going to the Bible Study.
Summer Schedule
This Summer we will be adding some events and changing some of our established programs.
Pure Bible Study
Pure Bible study will be taking a break starting in June and will return to our normal schedule in September.

Outdoor Summer Movie Nights
This Summer COR will be hosting 3 movie nights. We will be hosting them in various places and invite everyone to attend. We’ll get some pizzas and sodas and enjoy a movie together. This is a great opportunity to enjoy each other and bring other people out to see who we are. We are currently looking for people who’d like to host them in their back yards. Celebration Service Outings
We will be hosting celebration service at different venues over the summer.
Sunday June 26 at 10:30am – Location: TBD
Sunday July 31 at 10:30am – Location: Beth Emanuel.
Rabbi Yosi will be preaching. This is his last day as Rabbi at BE and will be leaving August 1st. This will be our last time using Beth Emanuel for our services.
Sunday August 28 at 10:30am – Location: Tamanend Park in Southampton, PA.
This will be an end of summer BBQ and service. More details will be provided the closer we get.
Prayer Team
This is a team that City of Refuge is establishing with the sole purpose of going to battle in prayer for members of City of Refuge, for the establishment of more house churches, and for the Hope Center. Our battle isn’t against people but against the powers of this dark world and the enemy of our souls. The only way to battle that is through prayer. If you have prayer needs, please e-mail them to Peter ASAP. We are holding our first team meeting this Saturday (June 4) at 6pm. It will be held at Peter & Jessica’s place.
House Church Updates
The Furlong House church will be merging with the two existing house churches the weekend of June 18/19. They will be throwing one last party bash on Saturday June 11 at 6pm. Anyone in the church is welcome to attend.
The Langhorne House Church will be moving to Bristol Borough on Sunday July 10. They will meet at 4pm at Peter & Jessica’s place. They will be the team launching the Hope Center as well as planting house churches across the area.
Hope Center Update
Bristol Assembly of God
Originally the Assemblies of God mentioned the possibility of taking over Bristol A/G building in Bristol, PA. This door has closed, and we need to lift of Bristol A/G in prayer. They are a hurting congregation that needs our support. Peter will be meeting with the Pastor of Bristol A/G soon and we will support them the best we can. Many churches have closed their doors in Bristol, and we don’t want to see anymore close.
Building Search
Kate Ruiz is starting to help in our building search in Bristol to host the Hope Center. We are looking at properties on Mill Street, but are willing to branch out to other areas in Bristol Borough as well. We are also exploring options in ending our lease with Oskar Huber for the unit which is our current ministry center. This would free up more funds for us to use in establishing the Hope Center.
Program Setup
We are looking to create food distribution, clothing distribution, and counseling center for the Hope Center. Through these programs we will offer classes for non-believers who are looking to understand God. We are currently doing all the research we need to establish these programs in the upcoming months.
Prayer Team
As we move forward at City of Refuge, it is desperately needed that we take hold of the vision that God has given us through prayer. We need to fight on our knees before we go and reach the people around us. If you’d like to join this special prayer team, please e-mail Peter at peter@cityofrefuge.tv.
Pure Bible Study Canceled May 24
City of Refuge’s weekly Bible study will be canceled on May 24 because Peter and Jess are moving.
Financial Accountability Class

City of Refuge will be offering a once a month class that will teach biblical principles of finances and provide accountability as you put them into practice. We will be using principles from Crown Financial Ministries and Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace Ministries. The class meets Saturday June 4 at 10am at Peter and Jess’s apartment. Breakfast will be provided.
Celebration Service
May 29 (UPDATED)
Our next Celebration Service will be taking place on Sunday May 29 at 10:30am. We will be holding service at City of Refuge’s Ministry Center. Lunch will follow. Please let your house church leader know if you’ll be in attendance so we can have enough food prepared.
