Why a house church?

Imagine that you’re living 2000 years ago, right after the formation of the church. You gather together with other believers every night for dinner. During dinner you take communion together to remember Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. Then you recline after the meal and remember Jesus. These activities were a cornerstone to the community of believers. They would come together in public worship and every night gather in smaller house churches to remember Jesus and learn from each others’ lives.

The key to house churches is that we are all in this together, we are all trying to live for God, and we need to learn from each other and bring others into this community.

What is a house church?

A house church is a group of people, numbering between 3-20, that meets in someone’s home. They come together to worship, study God’s word, and spend time with one another.

When do house churches meet?

House churches meet every week except for the last week of the month. The last week of the month we meet for our Celebration Service.

What happens in a house church gathering?

First we come together to share a meal. True relationships form over meals, and we believe that they are an awesome part of being a part of a community. During that meal, we celebrate communion together. Every time we gather we must always remember the broken body and shed blood of Jesus for the forgiveness of our sins and life everlasting. From there we go into a time of worship. Worship can be anything from singing songs, reading scripture, praying, listening to music, or meditating on Jesus. This brings us to our time of studying the Word/Bible. During this time, we read scripture, listen to teaching, and discuss how scripture impacts our lives and how we should live by it.
